This is a no-brainer for many car aficionados. This is one of Mercedes’ most iconic and historic cars.
The 300 SLR won the 1955 World Sportscar Championship before it crashed and caught fire at Le Mans.
Only 9 300 SLRs were ever made, and two out of that nine were converted into 300 SLR/300 SL hybrids. In its time, the 300 SLR was the fastest road car with capabilities of going up to 180 mph.
Some still consider this to be the greatest sports racing car ever built, and its history definitely gives it a story like no other. No car like it was ever made afterwards, and we’re sure that none will ever be made like it in the future.
