Introduced in 1956, the Austin A35 came to replace the super successful Austin A30.

The name reflected the greater capacity of the in-line four-cylinder engine in the «A-Series» series, which was also more powerful, delivering 54hp, allowing the A35 to have a slightly higher top speed and better acceleration than its predecessor.

Aesthetically the A35 is very similar to the A30, with the exception of a larger rear window and a front grille painted with a chrome frame. The turn signals have also been modernized, using indicator lights instead of “traffic light” indicators

It used 13-inch wheels just like the A30.
The gearbox used a selector that was simpler to use than the A30, and the best staggered dock ratios were crucial to the A 35's best performance

Like the A30, the A35 was available in versions «2 door sallon» (2 doors), «4 door sallon» (4 doors), «Contryman» (2-door van) and «Van» (2-door commercial van ). There was also a small production of just 477 units of a «PickUp» version.
